Immigrant Millionaires Of Canada

In a recent online survey was conducted between March 28 and April 11 with a random sample of 305 Canadian adults conducted for BMO Harris Private Banking several interesting and encouraging facts came to light regarding economic status of Immigrants in Canada.

These findings are as follows
  • 48% of Canada’s rich with investable assets of million dollars or more are immigrants or has close immigrants links.
  • 24% are first Generation Immigrants.
  • 24% has at least has one parent who is born outside Canada and an immigrant.
  • British Columbia has the highest percentage of high-net-worth citizens whose investable assets of $1 million or more
  • 67% of these millionaire Immigrants are self made.
These facts clearly indicate the fact that economic mobility for Immigrants is a reality in Canada. They establish a strong entrepreneurial environment. They also confirm that a culture of drive and determination Canadians self-made success is encouraged and rewarded.

Since 1897, when the first Indians arrived in Canada, Immigration of Indians from India to Canada had increased several folds. Today there are over a million immigrants of Indian origin and most of them settled successfully. 3.08% of the Canadian population is of Indian Origin.

64% of all Canadians of East Indian origin aged 15 and over were employed, compared with 62% of adults in the overall Canadian population.

Canada International Migration Outlook Report – 2013

International Migration Outlook Report for 2013 released recently by The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD)augers well for the immigrants who are looking towards Canada for immigration  for permanent settlement. Federal Skilled Worker Evaluation for 2013

Canadian Citizenship and Immigration Minister announced final details about Federal Skilled Worker Program; the applications are getting accepted from May 4, 2013. The Federal Skilled Worker Evaluation is to know whether the applicant is eligible for the program. The evaluation ensures the eligibility of the person to immigrate to Canada.

What exactly is FSWP?

FSWP is the Canada most prominent program for skilled immigration to Canada. Skilled workers can enter the nation after undergoing a long procedure. The program has lots of requirements and the candidate should meet the requirements. It is difficult to meet the requirements, hence always get to know the things before you get started with the process.

Eligibility under FSWP
To consider the application for FSWP the eligible candidates should meet one the following criteria:
  • Should have at least one year of experience continuously, either full-time or equivalent paid work experience in the past year and in any of the 24 eligible occupations and should obtain minimum 67 points on Canada’s Citizenship and Immigration (CIC) selection factors (or)
  • Should get qualified for Arranged Employment with the Opinion of Labour Market and a full-time job offer that is permanent from a Canadian employer (or)
  • Should have finished a PhD in Canada, or at least have finished two year study in Canada in PhD. In both cases in a recognized university

All the candidates who are applying under the Federal Skilled Worker Program are also needed to undergo language testing to demonstrate their skills in English and French. They should have their foreign educational credentials evaluated for equivalency against Canadian standards.

The points are classified under age criteria as mentioned below
  • 11 points for 36 years
  • 10 points for 37 years
  • 9 points for 38 years
  • 8 points for 36 years

The process ends at zero and the age will be 47 at zero points.

Language: 28 points Maximum

  • Out of 28 points, 24 points for English language skills and 4 for French
  • Listening 8.0, Speaking 7.0, Reading 7.0, Writing 7.0
Employment Experience: 15 points Maximum
  • 6 years, points 15
  •  4-5 years, points 13
  •  2-3 years, points 11
  • 1 year, points 9
Arranged Employment: 10 points Maximum 10
Qualifications: 25 points Maximum
Adaptability: 10 points Maximum.

Any one of the below mentioned statements is possible
Canada educated can get 5 points
If the employer is employed in Canada 10 points maximum are allowed
If educated and employed 10 points
