Eligibility
Requirements
The Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship
(DIAC) has enabled certain eligibility requirements which the applicants need
to meet for applying for an Australia Visa under General Skilled Migration
Scheme. To qualify for this program, the candidates need to show their skills
in specific regions such as age, education, work experience, English language,
health, criminal report and skills.
Additionally, candidates should also pass a point test.
The points test covers all areas of language, age, skills, education, work
experience, spouse skills and etc depending on the visa opted. In order to get
nominated under a state or a territory government the candidate should satisfy
the criteria which are set by that particular state or territory and this
includes:
- Showing specialized skills in a particular area the particular State or Territory or
- Should hold an occupation that is on the skills shortage list in the particular State or Territory
The skilled migration program has recently switched to a
new online system named as skillselect. Under this, the skilled applicants need
to submit an EOI. After submitting an EOI, the details in the Expression of
Interest (EOI) are verified by the Australian Employers, who have an ability to
check and extend the visa invitation upon applying a visa. But there is no
assurance that after submitting an EOI, it is not compulsory that you will get
an invitation to apply for a visa. In case, an invitation is received then
there is a specific time within which the visa application should be lodged
with DIAC.
The Australia Skilled
Nominated Permanent Visa is issued upon nomination by the eligible relative or
state or territory government. The permanent Australia Immigration is possible
with this visa; the eligible candidates can apply for migrating to Australia.
