Hong Kong developing as attractive transit point

Hong Kong is one transit point that does not require a visa for a stay of 30 days. The city state gets more travelers from China than any other country. In fact, the Mainland Chinese can make more than one visit from across the border from Shenzhen in a day. They come and make their purchases of all the items that are in demand back home. The authorities turn Nelson's eye to all such visits by the Chinese because of the huge monies they spend in the city state. The visitors/tourists from elsewhere are also welcome. The great attractions for those coming on HongKong Visit Visa include Victoria harbor, high-rise buildings and a view across the serpentine harbor. While the Hong Kong Attractions are there for all, the authorities are strict about the misuse of the visa for seeking work, for which there are other means.

As an old British colony that has been gifted back to the Chinese under the `one country two systems' policy of the great leader Deng Hsiao ping, Hong Kong maintains its stiff upper lip in the manner of the British. This is especially true in regard to the Mainland Chinese, with whom they will have to reunite in 3 decades anyway. Fearing losing out to Shanghai in the Mainland, which is fast developing and overtaking the city state in commerce to achieve the status of Asia's city, Hong Kong has now thought of new plans to develop as an educational hub. Endowed with eight premier universities and technology institutions that figure among the top 50, Hong Kong is developing as knowledge-based economy that none can rival in this part of the world.

As for the status of gateway between the East and West, there are many claimants, Dubai and Singapore. So Hong Kong is making all-out attempts for recognition as knowledge hub, building on the strength of the institutions the city state has developed. Though Hong Kong lives cheek by jowl and is hard pressed for the space, it has marked the land of the former British Army barracks to locate a foreign university there.

The developments will ensure enough traffic through Hong Kong Tourist Visa etc. There are too many attractions for the tourists. These include Hong Kong Disneyland that has turned the corner only last year. If you are a fan of Bruce Lee, you can see the statue in his honor on the harbor. Jackie Chan is also famous here.

You can pack your bags right now to enjoy the festivities of Chinese Year of the Snake during which snake soup is among the delicacies. Macau is also not far.
