The apprenticeship is applicable to any person who has working age and qualification is not required. It is available to people re-entering the workforce, school-leavers and workers who wants to change their careers.

Australian Apprenticeships Access Programmer: The Australian Apprenticeships Access Program offers job to job seekers who have experience towards skilled employment. The employment must be with nationally recognized pre-vocational training, support and assistance. This program is with no cost to the members participating and assists them to search and keep an Australian Apprenticeship. It also tells them to enter further training, education or employment.

The program is about 150 hours. The registered training organization delivers training which is linked to an Australian Apprenticeship. The participated individuals are allowed for job search through assistance for 13 weeks.

To be eligible for getting assistance under this Program, the participants should have working age i.e., between 15-64 years. The participant must also meet at least one statement from the below mentioned three categories:

    1. Registration:
  • Referred by a Disability Employment Services (DES) provider, Youth connection provider or Community Development Employment Project (CDEP) officer.
  • Registered job seeker
  • Eligible for youth allowance
    2. Residency:
  • Australian resident
  • A New Zealand passport holder who has been a resident of Australia for about six months, this must be before coming to the pre-vocational training course
  • Holder of permanent Australian visa
    3. Personal circumstances:
  • Referred by youth connection provider
  • Indigenous Australian
  • A homeless person
  • Must leave school before completion of year 12
  • Disabled person
  • A sole guardian or sole parent receiving parenting payment (single)
  • Year 12 school leaver " at risk"
  • Descendent of south Sea Islander and Australian born
  • Registered with Job Services Australia or Center link as unemployed for 3 months
  • Aged 45-65 at the time of pre-vocational training
  • Referred during or after undertaking the department of Literacy and Numeracy Program, Science and Tertiary Education-funded Language, Innovation, Industry,
  • A self-disclosed Ex-offender
While considering the above statements, there are certain exclusions and conditions which a participant should follow.
